Pop Perspective: Bruno Mars' "24K Magic"
Is the latest by Bruno Mars actual pop gold? Idolator editors rate and review the single.

Bruno Mars sure knows how to soundtrack a party (try not to move when “24K Magic” comes on), but he’s even better when the tempo slows down. From “Just The Way You Are” to “When I Was Your Man,” the 31-year-old has a song for every romantic occasion. As such, it’s not exactly surprising that the next cut from his third LP is a ballad. “Versace On The Floor” hits iTunes and Spotify tonight (November 3) and it finds the Hawaiian-born hitmaker in a very sexy mood.

“Underneath the chandelier we’re dancing all alone, there’s no reason to hide what we’re feeling inside right now,” Bruno croons in the chorus. “So baby let’s just turn down the lights and close the door, ooh I love that dress but you won’t need it anymore… let’s just kiss ’til we’re naked, baby. Versace on the floor.”

Like “24K Magic,” the track has its roots firmly in ’70s and ’80s soul — sounding like a cross between Atlantic Starr and The Commodores. Get acquainted with the four-time Grammy winner’s latest below.
