Lady Gaga Calls Out Melania Trump For The “Hypocrisy” Of Her Anti-Bullying Stance

Melania Trump was on the campaign trail stumping for her husband last week, and she gave a speech in Pennsylvania on November 3 that was somehow not plagiarized. Donald Trump‘s wife, in fact, attempted to detail what her role as First Lady would be, should the Republican nominee win the election on Tuesday (November 8) — and she stated that she’d be an advocate for woman and children, while also warning of the dangers of scary things like Twitter and Facebook.

“I do worry about all of our children. As we know, now social media is the centerpiece of our lives,” Mrs. Trump said to the crowd. “It can be a useful tool for connection and communication. It can ease isolation that so many people feel in the modern world. Technology has changed our universe. But like anything that is powerful, it can have a bad side. We have seen this already.” Um, yeah — especially with your husband’s Twitter feed, lady.

Trump continued, “As adults, many of us are able to handle mean words, even lies. Children and teenagers can be fragile. They’re hurt when they are made fun of, or hurt when they are made to feel less in looks or in intelligence. This makes their life hard and can force them to hide and retreat.”

Now, let’s just pause here to remind folks that Donald Trump, this woman’s husband, has spewed some of the most hateful, racist, bullying and juvenile rhetoric of any presidential candidate in modern history during this election — a fact that didn’t sit too well with Lady Gaga.

On Sunday (November 6) afternoon, the singer tweeted directly at Melania Trump, “to say u will stand for ‘anti-bullying’ is hypocrisy. Your husband is 1 of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed.”

Gaga’s tweet caused Parliament-Funkadelic legend George Clinton to chime in by saying, “let’s keep the White House and take the Senate too!! George Clinton for Hillary Clinton vote vote vote ad3.”

Melania Trump has yet to respond, and probably won’t. Gaga, to her credit, knows a thing or two about empowering youth by fighting bullying, having co-founded the Born Brave Foundation with her mother half a decade ago.

Regardless of whether you find Melania Trump’s words about anti-bullying to be sincere or a crock of shit, how much do you want to bet that she, like the bulk of the world’s population, can’t wait for this election to be over with?
