They’re back.

After teasing us with a few mysterious snippets of new music, the xx have announced that their third studio album I See You will arrive on January 13, 2017. The project was recorded between March 2014 and August 2016 in various places like New York, Marfa, TX, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, and London. It was also produced by Rodaidh McDonald and band member Jamie Smith, who also released his stellar solo album In Colour last year.

“We know these are uncertain times,” the group said in a series on Twitter. “And we hope the joy & love we found making the record will get out into the world, in however small a way.”

What’s more, the group have also unveiled their gorgeous lead single “On Hold.” The song aims for club euphoria, sampling Hall & Oates’ 1981 his ‘I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)’ over the trio’s signature ethereally minimal beat. All in all, it feels like a sonic step forward for the band. And I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

The London trio is also scheduled to appear on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show tonight (November 10) at 7pm GMT.

Listen to “On Hold” below and see the album’s tracklist after that.

The xx’s I See You Tracklist: 1. Dangerous 2. Say Something Loving 3. Lips 4. A Violent Noise 5. Performance 6. Replica 7. Brave For You 8. On Hold 9. I Dare You 10. Test Me

The LP’s box set also comes with three bonus tracks.
