John Legend goes all the way up on new song “Penthouse Floor,” with an assist from Chance The Rapper. The two buddies of Kanye West team up on a bouncy head-bobber built on rolling percussion and a deceptively busy guitar-and-organ funk arrangement. Chance hops in near the end to explain he was “handpicked from bad apples and bad eggs,” while his people were “still downstairs, still waiting in line.”
The song is off Legend’s Darkness And Light, which also features Miguel and Brittany Howard. The album drops December 2. Hear the latest track below.
