Annabel Jones Teams Up With Nebbra For Icy Banger “Stay”

Annabel Jones quietly dropped one of the year’s best EPs in May with Libelle. The five-song set showcases her mastery of despondent, ethereal pop (the deceptively-titled “Happy” and “Not Today”) as well as her ability to create upbeat, radio-ready anthems like “IOU” and “Magnetic.” It turns out she’s equally adept at writing toplines for icy bangers. The Brit lends her versatile vocals to Nebbra’s “Stay” — a brooding dance anthem about being relegated to the friend zone. It even boasts glamorous, toilet-themed cover art.

“We worked well together and I liked everything [the French DJ] brought to the table,” Annabel told V Magazine of the single. “My songs are all very personal, so it can be weird when you don’t know someone to make yourself that vulnerable. It’s cool because it’s broken down some of the walls I created around myself and it’s made me way more open to collaboration.” The versatile diva is currently putting the finishing touches on her second EP, which is due in early 2017. In the meantime, listen to “Stay” below.
