Quench Your Girl Group Thirst With TP4Y’s “Lovecation”
Need a new girl group in your life? It’s time to break the Fifth Harmony and Little Mix duopoly and give TP4Y (it stands for Too Pretty 4 You) a try. The Dutch divas, who appeared on Holland’s Got Talent in 2014, first appeared on my radar earlier year with “Million Bucks.” The percussion-heavy track wouldn’t sound out of place on 7/27 or Glory Days and promised good things for debut EP, Kisses. That six-song set showcased the group’s willingness to experiment with genres, mixing club-bangers like “Blush” with R&B anthems like “Take It Like A Man.”
The ladies returned last week with a new single called “Lovecation” and it’s another bop. While lyrically questionable (“spin me round, spin me round on repeat. Like your favorite record, papi!”), this is all about the world music-inspired drop and glamorous video, which finds TP4Y dancing in the desert. When it comes to choreography, they have the competition beat. Watch the girl group in action up top.
