Fifth Harmony‘s Lauren Jauregui was stopped by TSA security at Dulles Airport after they found marijuana in her bag Tuesday (December 12), but contrary to initial reports, she was not arrested. USA Today reports that she was merely given a citation for possession and was then released.

“Lauren Jauregui was not arrested and detained as reported, but simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance,” Dina LaPolt, attorney for Fifth Harmony and Jauregui, said in a statement to the newspaper. “She will address the matter appropriately through the legal system. This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities.”

Though she was never locked up, Billboard reports that she missed the group’s Vevo FunPopFun performance the following day in Brazil. Once the (inaccurate) news hit that Jauregui was in police custody yesterday, the #FreeLauren hashtag began working its way through Twitter, and even got support from fellow singer JoJo.

No members of Fifth Harmony have made a public comment on the issue.
