The State Of Florida Paid Pitbull $1 Million To Be Pitbull

Pitbull got paid $1 million dollars by Florida to keep being Pitbull. The pop-rapper got seven figures in 2015 to serve as a tourism ambassador to promote the Sunshine State through his music and videos, according to TMZ, which seems like a pretty bad deal for the state since Pitbull’s entire career was already just a walking Florida airhorn.

Part of the promotional material included his televised New Year’s Eve celebration on FOX and his “Sexy Beaches” music video.

“Government waste” seems to be a pretty big GOP talking point these days. This deal was struck while Republicans were running that state, and then the Republicans running the state sued Pitbull to find out the actual terms of the contract they made with him. Great hustle, everyone.
