Folks, it has been a long and traumatic year, so let’s entertain this bit of good news ahead of the Christmas holiday: There is indeed a new Goldfrapp album on the way.

The Grammy-nominated duo, consisting of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, began to tease their seventh LP on social media a month ago by posting all their previous album covers on a newly-created band Instagram. (Alison has had a personal account on the photo-sharing platform for awhile now.) Finally, what appears to be the artwork for Goldfrapp’s upcoming album was shared yesterday with the hashtag #goldfrapp7.

The pair’s most recent album, Tales Of Us, was released in September 2013. At the time, Alison told Idolator, “We’ve always had these two worlds that exist alongside each other — the sort of more pastoral, orchestral sound and then this much harder, synthetic sound. I love both, but I’d say I think this more acoustic, simple sound is where my heart is at. All the artists that I really love and listen to all the time and always go back to are of that ilk. That’s what I feel really passionate about.”

She added, “You know, I love singing ‘Strict Machine’. I never get bored of that song. I love it and still find it really exciting. But I love this, and I feel somehow that I can explore this world more. And I feel very comfortable with that.”

As for the sound of Goldfrapp’s upcoming album, it’s anyone’s guess.
