While Camila Cabello‘s departure from Fifth Harmony seemed sudden, her solo debut has apparently been in the works for some time. An unnamed source tells Entertainment Weekly that Camila’s first album will be released in 2017. This news comes after Camila released her own statement about exiting Fifth Harmony: “Next year I will be working on my own music and giving you a big chunk of my heart.”

Each member of 5H had long been signed to Epic as individual artists, as reported by EW and Billboard. But no one had made as much efforts to break out as a solo star than Camila, who has collaborated with Shawn Mendes (last year’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer”) and Machine Gun Kelly (“Bad Things,” which recently broke into the Top 10).

In between those releases, Camila and Diplo had also been working together.
