2017 Governors Ball Lineup: Chance The Rapper, Phoenix, Tool To Headline

What a power move by Governors Ball, releasing their 2017 lineup just hours after Coachella’s went live. The NYC festival announced the full roster this morning, with headliners Chance The Rapper, Phoenix and Tool. While the Cali festival may be more pop-friendly overall this year (Beyoncé is headlining, after all), there’s still plenty to love about this latest Gov Ball lineup for Idolator readers.

Lorde, Tove Lo, Mark Ronson, Rae Sremmurd, Banks, Charli XCX, Francis And The Lights (who had one of 2016’s best alt-pop albums), Dua Lipa and Tkay Maidza will all play Randall’s Island Park on the weekend of June 2, along with dozens of other acts. A couple things we can glean from all this: with spots here and at Coachella, Lorde’s new album is probably getting a spring release. Charli’s placement also suggests she’ll have new music to promote by June. And this Mark Ronson vs. Kevin Parker thing sure does sound like an opportunity for a surprise Lady Gaga cameo.

Tickets go on sale Friday (January 6) right here. See the full lineup poster below.
