Sarah Hudson has spent the last few years writing hits for other artists (Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse,” Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow” and Justin Bieber’s “The Feeling”), but she’s about to showcase her own art with a new EP called Songs From The Sea. “I am so so excited to show you guys the cover art for my upcoming EP Songs from the Sea,” Sarah wrote on Instagram. “It has been over 5 years that I’ve been making this piece by piece here and there with my incredible friend @nicostadi… and now she is finally ready to share and is coming out EARLY 2017!”

The concept EP, which takes inspiration from mysteries of the deep, is the singer/songwriter’s first body of work under her own name since 2005 debut LP, Naked Truth. That opus contained raucous, mid-’00s gem “Girl On The Verge” and stripped-back ballad “Unlove You,” which was later covered by Ashley Tisdale. Since then, Sarah has released club-pop anthems with side-project Ultraviolet Sound and lent her vocals to bangers like Bro Safari’s mind-bending “Reality.” Check it out below.
