The Weekend’s ‘Starboy’ Tops Album Chart Again, “Bad And Boujee” Crowns Hot 100

Even though the reign of The Weeknd‘s “Starboy” atop the single chart was cut short by the resurgence of “Black Beatles” last week, the spaced-out synth hit’s parent album of the same name has returned to the top of the Billboard 200. It does so on the strength of 69,000 equivalent album units, only 18,000 of which were traditional sales — a typically low performance for a chart-topping LP in the slow, post-holidays January rut.

And speaking of “Black Beatles,” Rae Sremmurd‘s single gets knocked off the top of the Hot 100 this week by an equally huge viral smash: Migos and Lil Uzi Vert‘s “Bad And Boujee.” Niykee Heaton collaborators Migos had previously only ever gotten as high as #69 on the chart, with 2014’s “Fight Night.” As for Lil Uzi Vert, he just barely cracked the Hot 100’s Top 40 before this with “You Was Right” last year. (It peaked at #40.)

Meanwhile, don’t expect the shelf life of “Bad And Boujee” to end anytime soon; that Donald Glover shout out Sunday’s Golden Globes has turned out to be a godsend.

The Top 10 of the Billboard 200:

1. The Weeknd, Starboy *2 weeks*  2. Soundtrack, Moana 3. Bruno Mars, 24K Magic 4. Drake, Views 5. J. Cole, 4 Your Eyez Only 6. Cast, Hamilton 7. Twenty One Pilots, Blurryface 8. Soundtrack, Sing 9. Soundtrack, Suicide Squad 10. Soundtrack, Trolls
