Keep It! Ariana Grande & John Legend To Cover “Beauty And The Beast”
From the (quite obviously) CGI beast to those terrifying dolls, the upcoming remake of Beauty And The Beast is shaping up to be something of an abomination. To make matters worse, producers have chosen Ariana Grande and John Legend to cover the titular theme song. What a downgrade. Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s original is a much-loved classic that won the awards trifecta — bringing home a Gold Globe, Oscar and Grammy. This version will be lucky to nab a Teen Choice Award.
Hits Daily Double notes that the Ron Fair-produced ballad will serve as the end-credit track and be pushed as a single. The childhood-ruining collaboration will be promoted with a video, which was directed Dave Meyers (Bebe Rexha’s “No Broken Hearts” and CL’s “Lifted”). The movie opens on March 17 with the soundtrack on sale a week earlier. Enjoy the original, unnecessary-to-remake version of “Beauty And The Beast” below.
