Hear Matthew E. White & Flo Morrissey’s Frank Ocean Cover
The Frank Ocean cover has blossomed into a cottage industry. But not all Frank Ocean covers are worth covering. This one is. Studio soul wiz Matthew E. White and London singer Flo Morrissey team up to take on his Channel Orange ballad “Thinkin Bout You.”
It’s fuller arrangement than the original, with guitar plucks, organ and a trotting beat to give it a vintage feel. It’s part of the pair’s collaborative covers album, Gentlewoman, Ruby Man, which also features covers of James Blake, The Velvet Underground and the Grease theme song.
