Is The 1D War Over? Liam Payne Wishes Zayn Malik A Happy Birthday
Despite assurances that they were all still friends, things got a little frosty when Zayn Malik left One Direction. Louis Tomlinson threw shade on Twitter, Niall Horan barely looked at his ex-bandmate when they were forced to shake hands at the 2016 AMAs and the “Pillowtalk” hitmaker didn’t exactly help matters by trashing the band’s music and playing victim in interviews. “I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven’t received calls from a lot of people,” he complained to Billboard in 2016.
Well, things seem to be thawing out. Today (January 12), Liam Payne reached out via Twitter to wish Zayn a happy 24th birthday. “Happy birthday bro! Hope all is well and you have a good day celebrating it,” he tweeted. The birthday boy is yet to reply, but it’s nice to see someone making an effort. As for Liam, he’s currently putting the finishing touches on his debut solo single. It’s expected to be released via Republic Records early this year. See his well-intentioned tweet below.
