Billie Eilish Signs With Interscope
Billie Eilish signs with Interscope and drops a dance video for viral hit "Ocean Eyes."

Don’t trust a site that doesn’t list Billie Eilish as One To Watch in 2017. The 15-year-old generated huge buzz last year with a pair of independently-released singles before signing a worldwide deal with Darkroom/Interscope in November. The label hasn’t wasted time recycling her back catalogue — dropping a dance video for viral hit “Ocean Eyes” and now a club remix for “Six Feet Under.” Overhauling a brooding ballad is always a gamble, but New York DJs Anden get it just right with this gloomy take.

“Our love is six feet under,” Billie sings over gloomy synths. “I cant help but wonder if our grave was watered by the rain.” That gives way to a drop/breakdown that evokes ’80s electro-pioneers like New Order and Depeche Mode. It’s dark, delicate and strangely danceable. It will be interesting to see if Interscope pushes this as a single (it could work given pop’s radio’s current obsession with emo-dance) or opts for something entirely new. In the meantime, listen to Anden’s massive remix below.
