Kanye West Isn’t “Traditionally American” Enough For Trump’s Inauguration

Donald Trump hasn’t been able to book a single legitimate famous person for his inauguration. Yet he was able to get a few celebs to waltz through the Trump Tower lobby and meet with him over the last few weeks. One of the most infamous of those meetings was Kanye West. So some wondered why West wasn’t doing the inauguration when it was so desperately in need of a star. Now Tom Barrack, human-shaped snake and chairman of the Presidential Inauguration Committee, told CNN West isn’t a fit for the “typically and traditionally American” event.

Hm, weird! They could’ve said West is too volatile, or uses too much profanity, or is too divisive. But instead, they went with he’s not traditionally American enough. It’s almost like they were trying to say…something… without saying it.

Barrack told CNN’s Erin Burnett that the they hadn’t asked West: “He’s been great, he considers himself a friend of the president-elect, but it’s not the venue.”

The good news is you don’t have to burn your Yeezys and Kanye CDs.
