Ansel Elgort Announces Debut Single "Home Alone"
Ansel Elgort is branching into pop with the release of debut single "Home Alone."

It looks like Ansel Elgort is taking this music thing seriously. Last year, the star of The Fault In Our Stars and Divergent casually dropped a moody club banger called “Home Alone” and promptly topped Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. That led to a deal with Island Records and the 22-year-old’s second single, “Thief,” is due via the label this month. What can you expect from the double threat’s latest? Well, it’s another emotional track (he has a lot of feelings) with slick, electronic production.

“I’ve been living in the darkness, shadows in my apartment,” Ansel muses over ’80s synths. “Heartless takin’ love just to spill it on the parchment.” That takes us to the chorus: “Call me a thief, there’s been a robbery. I left with her heart, tore it apart.” The budding pop star shared a snippet of the video clip (below) over the weekend and it finds him sharing a romantic bath with girlfriend, Violetta Komyshan. He also played the full song in an Instagram live video in December. You can watch/listen here.
