What Is This About Lady Gaga Dropping Another Album In October?

UPDATE: Fake news! Below is the weirdly worded correction appended to the original Forbes article.

Correction: This article previously stated that Lady Gaga will release a new album slated for early October 2017. Gaga has not announced a release date for her next album.

// Leading up to the release of Lady Gaga‘s 2013 album ARTPOP, and even after, she was talking about it being split into two volumes: a mainstream installment and an experimental one. That never happened, but now there’s a similar report emerging about back-to-back Gaga releases. In a story on her upcoming Super Bowl performance, Forbes reports that she has a new LP slated for “early October” — less than a year after the release of Joanne.

“With Lady Gaga’s new album slated for early October 2017, over 100 million viewers won’t hurt her sales.” Way to bury the lede, guy!

Is this the proper follow-up to Joanne? Is it the Cheek To Cheek sequel? Does it have something to do with this? Is it just a reporting error? What’s going on here? We’ve reached out to Gaga’s camp for confirmation.
