Watch Grace VanderWaal’s Dreamy Cover Of Ed Sheeran’s “The A Team”
Grace VanderWaal stopped by Paste Magazine to play a few songs off her debut EP Perfectly Imperfect, and during her set, she covered Ed Sheeran‘s 2011 hit “The A Team.” Using a guitar that Shawn Mendes gave her, the singer opted for a sparse, dreamy rendition of the poignant ballad. Not to mention, VanderWaal also revealed that she figured out the meaning of the track – which is about the hardships of the homeless – only recently.
“It’s a beautiful song,” she said. “I didn’t realize how deep the lyrics were until I actually wanted to learn it.”
The performance starts at the 9:30 mark.
