UPDATE: Like Forbes did with its story about a new Gaga albumAd Age has updated the copy in its article to read “Tony Bennett will appear first in a pre-produced segment.” So he won’t be “taking the stage first as her lead-in.” Original post below.

Lady Gaga is reportedly planning to bring out Tony Bennett for part of her Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 5. Ad Age reports that “Lady Gaga is the main attraction, with Tony Bennett taking the stage first as her lead-in.”

Look, there’s a lot of misinformation going around about Gaga recently, and something definitely seems off about this. A “lead-in” performance? Maybe it’s a video intro or something.

Tony Bennett is a legend. But he has no business performing at the Super Bowl in 2017. If this is really true, Gaga has completely lost the narrative (same goes for the NFL for greenlighting the idea).

God, what ever happened to the Diplo rumors, can we bring those back?
