Carly Rae Jepsen Teases Fresh Collab With Lil Yachty

Pop darling Carly Rae Jepsen may still be waiting for another single to crush the charts like 2012’s “Call Me Maybe,” but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t kept herself busy with touring, appearances, new music and a few acting gigs to boot. So when she recently chopped her hair into a bleached out pixie and announced her collaboration with Lil Yachty covering Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock‘s “It Takes Two,” it’s obvious she’s out to reinvent herself for a 2017 takeover.

Teaming up with Yachty and producer Mike Will Made-It, the trio got together with director Roman Coppola and La La Land‘s Mandy Moore to shoot a Target sponsored video for the track, which Carly tells EW was, “too weird to say no to!” Set to air during the Grammys on February 12th, the 31-year-old is excited to showcase a collaboration that she says is, “reaching from different worlds and coming together to make something that hopefully nobody would expect.”

Teasing fans with an audio clip of the re-make, it’s just enough to quench your hip-hop-pop-tastic thirst as we patiently wait for it’s grand three minute reveal this Sunday.
