Female artists have dominated the first few weeks of 2017 with album announcements from Bebe Rexha and Zara Larsson as well as the imminent return of Katy Perry. In fact, with the exception of Ed Sheeran, the pop guys have been in hiding. That will change with the arrival of Jason Derulo’s “Swa-Lah” on March 4. “My favorite thing I did all year… I have to say it’s this brand new single that I’m about to put out,” the 27-year-old announced on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (below). “It’s called ‘Swalla.’ It features Nicki Minaj and it features Ty Dolla $ign.”

“I feel like it’s a record we need,” Jason continued. “It’s one of those ones that’s going to get us up and dancing.” The track, which was produced by Ricky Reed and co-written by Reed, Jacob Kasher and LunchMoney Lewis, is the lead single from the 27-year-old’s 5th studio LP. The crooner unveiled the cover today (February 7) and it finds him leaning against a wire fence. After a fairly quiet 2016, it will be good to have the “Want To Want Me” hitmaker back on the radio. Expect a preview to arrive in the next couple of days.
