Selena Gomez Is Up To Something
New snippets & refreshed socials: Selena's new era is closer than we thought.

Well, this is interesting. I thought “It Ain’t Me” might be the lead single from Selena Gomez’s follow-up to Revival, but it’s looking more like Kygo’s next release. The Norwegian DJ teased a preview of the video on Instagram this morning (February 9) and it finds him in an introspective mood, soaking up the desolate beauty of a wintery landscape. There’s no sign of the “Hands To Myself” diva, but we do hear a slightly different snippet of her vocal. “I had a dream we were sipping whiskey neat,” she coos over acoustic guitar. “Highest floor of the Bowery and I was high enough.” At least, that’s what I think she’s singing. I couldn’t quite make out the lyrics.

This is all coming together rather quickly. Selena registered the song with ASCAP earlier this month and then shared a snippet on Instagram a couple of days later. “I had a dream we were back at 17,” the 24-year-old sang in that preview, which has subsequently been deleted. “Summer nights and liberties, never growing up.” It sounds like a relaxing mix of acoustic guitar and drowsy house. In other words, dead on trend. Given Kygo’s video preview and Selena’s refreshed socials, I wouldn’t be surprised if “It Ain’t Me” drops before the end of the month.
