Has Camila Cabello Landed A ‘Billboard’ Cover?
Once upon a time, Billboard covers were reserved for superstars like Madonna, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. Times have changed, however, and the bar has been lowered. The music bible teased a video of their new cover girl today (February 15), for example, and it looks like Camila Cabello has been given the honor. You can’t make out her face in the clip, but it’s clearly her. She poses in a corner, seductively touches carpet and even goes for the increasingly cliche underwater shot.
Camila’s team deserves a medal. To go from a girl-group that only scored one top 10 hit (last year’s iconic “Work From Home”) to studio sessions with Diplo and OneRepublic, let alone a Billboard cover, is an act of alchemy. Particularly when her only real receipt as a solo star is a feature on Machine Gun Kelly’s “Bad Things.” You can watch a preview of the 19-year-old’s glamorous shoot below. It will be interesting to see if as much energy is expended trying to push Fifth Harmony as a four-piece.
