On The Verge: 25 Artists To Watch In 2017
We've put together a list of 25 artists on the brink of very big things in 2017.

Sofi Tukker emerged as one of pop’s most exciting new voices in 2016 with Grammy-nominated single, “Drinkee,” and critically-acclaimed debut EP, Soft Animals. But there’s more to the New York duo than mind-bending bangers. Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern take aim at Donald Trump on new track, “Greed,” which arrives, appropriately enough, on President’s Day (February 20). Don’t expect a stuffy protest anthem, however. This is another example of their weird, wonderful and multi-layered electro-pop.

“There’s a reason we’re putting this out on President’s Day,” they explain. “Greed has been the government’s M.O. this year — and it’s not just about one man. This is one of the first times Sophie has ever screamed. Unfortunately, there is a lot to scream about right now.” We’re excited to premiere the track below. If you need more Sofi Tukker in your life (and let’s face it, who doesn’t), check out the duo’s recent single “Johny.” It’s the first taste of the break-out act’s much-anticipated next project.
