The battle of the unlikely club collaborations takes place this week (February 24) with The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” going up against Zedd and Alessia Cara’s “Stay.” The former definitely has the edge on sheer curiosity value alone, but the first taste of the German DJ’s third LP sounds like a smash too. “All you have to do is stay a minute, just stay,” the “Here” hitmaker sings over frantic beats in a new preview. “All you have to do is stay a second, your hands on mine the clock is tickin’ so stay.”

Zedd isn’t playing with this single. He recently confirmed the collaboration via a TV commercial during Saturday Night Live after hinting at the unlikely pairing way back in December. “Who’s ready for ZEDD x ALESSIA CARA,” the 27-year-old captioned a happy snap. I struggled with the idea of Alessia on a banger (her debut single is about being a homebody), but she takes to electronic like a duck to water. Listen to a snippet of “Stay” below and get ready for a blockbuster video. You just know Zedd’s going to pull out all the stops.
