Pop Perspective: Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You"
We rate and review Ed Sheeran's new singles "Shape Of You" and "Castle On The Hill."

Ed Sheeran teamed up with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots to perform “Shape of You,” though as it had never been heard before. As with AdeleMariah Carey and Carly Rae Jepsen in the past, the Tonight Show ensemble performed the No. 1 Divide hit with toy instruments.

Their arsenal included a kazoo, xylophones and a banana maraca, which Ed played masterfully. But while the final result sounded more like a ditty by which to learn your shapes, the Roots singing along to the come-hither hook captured the drama of the dancehall-inspired original.

“Shape of You” is now on its seventh week on the Hot 100. Thanks to this classroom rendition, though, it’s bound to stay on top at least until Ed releases third album Divide on March 3. Watch the fun up top.
