Iggy Azalea Features Lil Uzi Vert On New Song “Can’t Lose”: Listen

Iggy Azalea returns to music with “Can’t Lose,” her first single in over a year, off Def Jam’s just-released compilation Direct Deposit Vol. 2. Throughout, she acts like the halcyon days of 2014’s “Fancy” were only yesterday, boasting of making a cool million off a single show while otherwise stressing that money is no object: “Wax on, wax off, karate chop with the sauce / Never worry about the cost.” With his distorted warbling, featured rapper Lil Uzi Vert is as nonchalant about always winning as can be.

“Can’t Lose” arrives more than a year of false starts to her Digital Distortion album era. Iggy acknowledged just as much yesterday (March 2), saying, “I felt it was important I made some creative changes too — I needed my album to reflect where my head’s at in 2017.” More than anything, though, “Can’t Lose” makes Iggy seem more concerned with being on trend. Between the ominous, bass-heavy production and all the times she says “dat way” like Migos in “Bad and Boujee,” Iggy’s state of mind is currently stuck on the past few years of radio hits out of one-time home base Atlanta.

Fortunately, Iggy has plenty more chances to distinguish herself further, as she’ll be releasing music throughout March. For now, hear “Can’t Lose” below.
