Elle King Interview
We speak to Elle King about the success of "Ex's & Oh's" and her new single.

Update: It seems the song is part of a make-up campaign.

Well, this is a little surprising. Elle King dropped a new single this morning (March 6) without so much as a tweet to herald its arrival. She also experiments with a completely new sound. The earthy rock of “Ex’s & Oh’s” and “America’s Sweetheart” gives way to sparse electronic production on “Wild Love.” There are still real instruments in the mix, but this is a very different approach. The common denominator, however, is the 27-year-old’s raspy vocal and it sounds as bad-ass as ever.

“Love is a cure, love is for sure, love might keep us here together,” she purrs. “Might be the one, jumping a gun but I feel our love can last forever.” That takes us to the hook-heavy chorus, which will bounce around your head for the rest of the day. I’m not sure how I feel about this. It’s a great song, but Elle’s ballsy brand of rock was such a breath of fresh air. Time will tell if it’s representative of her sophomore LP, which is expected to arrive “soon,” or a one-off experiment. Listen to “Wild Love” below.
