Zayn Malik & PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Still Got Time” Is A Summery Bop

ZAYN launches the first single from his sophomore LP this afternoon (March 23) with “Still Got Time.” Ably assisted by PARTYNEXTDOOR, the Brit channels Drake on the summery bop. “Just stop looking for love,” he croons over loose, dancehall beats on the catchy chorus. “Girl, you’re young, you still got time.” After another verse, the 24-year-old hands over the reigns to his collaborator. “I’m boyfriend material, you said it yourself you digging me,” he sings. “And I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t equally a feeling that we both feel.”

The former One Direction star has been chipping away at his second album for most of last year. Not that fans have been starving for new music. ZAYN has kept them occupied with a couple of features (Snakehips’ “Cruel” and M.I.A.’s “Freedun”) and that chart-conquering Fifty Shades Darker duet with Taylor Swift. “Still Got Time” veers perilously too close to Drake’s “One Dance,” but it’s just different enough to get away with it.
