Sweden’s ALVA has generated significant buzz this year with well-received singles “Let Her Go,” “Rule You” and “Daylight.” Those songs appear on the singer’s debut EP, Love For Losers. The title says it all. The striking diva has love on the brain and explores matters of the heart, particularly on the bittersweet title-track. “This love is a love for losers, wish we gave up sooner ’cause this won’t be easy,” she sings on the ballad. “We lost our senses in our heartbeat, so please leave love, let me be.”

What’s it all about? “There’s something special about being so exhaustingly in love that you just have to quit,” ALVA explains. “This song is about hindsight, wanting to redo and do better. About not exposing yourself to one-sided love. About losing pride and self respect. Simply a song about being a loser.” Relatable! You can stream the rising singer/songwriter’s EP in full below. “Let Her Go” and “Love For Losers” are my favorites.
