Beyonce Dedicates A Playlist To Jay Z On Their 9th Wedding Anniversary
Beyonce celebrates her 9th wedding anniversary with Jay Z today (April 4). She marked the happy occasion by releasing the studio version of “Die With You” and posting a romantic playlist dedicated to her man — exclusively on TIDAL, of course. Let’s start with the pretty ballad, which was penned by Kirby. Queen Bey posted a live version on the streaming service in 2015, but this sounds fuller. “I don’t need air in my lungs if I can’t sing your song,” the pregnant diva sings. “No, I don’t need hands if I don’t get to keep you warm.” It’s stunning and I’m glad we have the finished version.
As for Bey’s loved-up playlist, it’s an interesting mix. There’s a selection of classics including Marvin Gaye (“I Want You”), Shuggie Otis (“Island Letter”), Curtis Mayfield (“Get Down”), Aretha Franklin (“Day Dreaming”) and Ella Fitzgerald (“How High The Moon”). The 35-year-old also throws in some indie-leaning tracks like Feist’s “The Limit To Your Love,” Radiohead’s “Nude” and Zero 7’s “Polaris.” Oh, and there are two Robin Thicke ballads and a smattering of recent bangers. Stream all the songs below.
