DNCE Teams Up With Nicki Minaj For “Kissing Strangers”
DNCE returns today (April 13) with their first, new track of 2017. A collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Kissing Strangers” picks up where the dance/rock band left off — namely, with a attitude-filled, funk-laced banger. “Open heart, open mind, never know who you’ll find,” Joe Jonas sings on the snappy chorus. “Open heart, close your eyes, kissing strangers.” What’s it all about? Finding a real connection in the digital maze of social media and dating apps.
As for Nicki’s (superfluous) verse? She’s still shading her competitors and calling people her sons. “I gotta lotta sons, I can show you all the sonograms,” the 34-year-old spits. “Me? I’m Jem, and these bitches is the holograms.” That’s about as good as it gets. It’s still unclear if “Kissing Strangers” is the lead single from DNCE’s sophomore LP or something for a re-release or deluxe edition of their self-titled debut. (After all, it only dropped in November). You can stream the track below from midnight (EST) tonight.
