Rita Ora Reunites With Ed Sheeran In The Studio
Rita Ora is back in the studio, this time with hitmaker and good friend Ed Sheeran. A photo by Warner Music Brasil (above) shows them deep in thought, with Ed holding an electric guitar. And on a video posted to Rita’s Instagram (below), the collaborators look slyly at one another, as a sparse instrumental plays in the background. In short, they mean serious business.
Rita has worked with the Divide singer-songwriter once before. Back in 2015, they wrote an “incredibly beautiful song” about their friendship. “It’s amazing having a friend in this industry of the opposite sex that you haven’t hooked up with. He’s such a legend. I respect him in so many ways,” Rita said to Noisey.
Meanwhile, this status update reestablishes that Rita is taking her time with her follow-up to Ora, despite promising a new single in April. She has worked with Nile Rodgers and Stargate, though while also taking control of her sound. “I wrote everything on this record, it’s all live music, obviously mixed with some great beats,” she said to Billboard, adding, “It’s the first time I’ve ever been proud of my music.”
