Miley Cyrus Announces New Single 'Malibu'
Miley Cyrus covers 'Billboard' and announces new single 'Malibu.'

Miley Cyrus isn’t taking any chances with new single, “Malibu.” The 24-year-old has already appeared on the cover of Billboard (and ruffled a few feathers in the accompanying interview) and has two performances lined up. She will belt out the Liam Hemsworth-dedicated love song at the iHeartSummer ’17 Weekend in Miami on June 9 alongside DJ Khaled, Halsey and baby sister Noah Cyrus. However, the summery track will get its live debut at Wango Tango on May 13, followed by a longer set on May 26 when she takes part in Today’s Citi Concert Series.

What can we expect from the Oren Yoel-produced ditty? Well, it has been described as a breezy pop/rock anthem with folky overtones. In other words, it’s nothing like Bangerz. Miley has even shared some of the lyrics. “It’s supposed to be this hot all summer long,” she tweeted. “I never would’ve believed you if 3 years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song.” It will be interesting to see how the song is received, particularly with Selena Gomez rolling out her new single the week after.
