Is This Harry Styles Song About Taylor Swift?
“I kinda wanted to see if I could write something that people liked without knowing everything about me,” Harry Styles says in the trailer for Apple Music documentary Harry Styles: Behind the Album.
Despite him wanting to be mysterious, though, some eagle-eyed fans may have him all figured out. Halfway through the teaser, they spotted lyrics for a song, “Two Ghosts,” that appears to respond to Taylor Swift‘s “Style.” Harry’s notebook reads, “Same lips, red. Same eyes, blue. Same white shirt, couple more tattoos.” Meanwhile, Taylor’s “Style” goes, “You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye / and I got that red lip classic thing that you like … You’ve got that long hair slicked back, white t-shirt.”
Harry and Taylor dated from 2012 to 2013. Since then, Taylor has reportedly written three songs about their relationship, also including 1989‘s “Out of the Woods” and “Wonderland.” And Harry holds no grudges. I write from my experiences; everyone does that. I’m lucky if everything [we went through] helped create those songs,” he said to Rolling Stone. “That’s what hits your heart. That’s the stuff that’s hardest to say, and it’s the stuff I talk least about. That’s the part that’s about the two people.”
