Miley Cyrus Teases "Malibu" Video
Miley Cyrus teased "Malibu" and shared a glimpse of the video in a BBMAs teaser.

And they say romance is dead. Miley Cyrus just revealed the cover for her new single and the photo was taken by long-time partner Liam Hemsworth. Which is appropriate given that the song is dedicated to the Australian actor. As for the “Malibu” artwork, it sticks with the era’s dreamy, outdoorsy theme and finds the pop star lying on the grass in a white turtleneck sweater surrounded by wildflowers. She stares at the camera, lovestruck, and proudly rocks a gigantic diamond engagement ring. It’s a picture of serenity and a million miles from Bangerz.

The 24-year-old teased “Malibu” and provided a glimpse of the video in a new commercial for the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. (She has also been confirmed as a performer). As I wrote in a previous post, it’s a lot more uptempo than I expected given the “breezy pop/rock” description in Billboard. “Next to you in Malibu,” she coos over driving synths. The visual also looks impressive as Miley runs along a beach with a bunch of balloons trailing in the air behind her. Watch the BBMAs video here and check out her cover art below.
