Madonna Is Releasing A ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ DVD & Live Album
It’s about time! Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download on September 15. Co-directed by Danny Tull and Nathan Rissman, the concert film previously aired on Showtime in 2016. However, it will be accompanied by bonus content and, most excitingly, a 22-song live album. This is the pop icon’s fifth live album by my count after I’m Going To Tell You A Secret, The Confessions Tour, The Sweet & Sticky Tour and MDNA World Tour. The tracklist hasn’t been announced yet but expect it to contain the full setlist.
The “Living For Love” diva’s Rebel Heart Tour kicked off in Montreal on September 9, 2015 and stopped in 55 cities on four different continents. All in all, she performed 82 shows, plus a special Tears Of A Clown fan club show in Melbourne, Australia. Needless to say, it was a blockbuster success — grossing $169.8 Million from 1,045,479 tickets sold. That makes her the top grossing touring female artist in the history of Billboard Boxscore with over $1.31 billion in ticket sales. See the cover, which was designed by fan Aldo Diaz, below.
