Fatalities At Ariana Grande Concert
An Ariana Grande concert in Manchester has ended in tragedy after an explosion.

According to authorities, 19 people were killed and roughly fifty more were injured when a series of explosions erupted at the end of Ariana Grande’s performance in Manchester, England on Monday night (May 22). The usual bustle of concertgoers filing out quickly became hysteria as young fans and their parents fled Manchester Arena.

The Greater Manchester Police Department has shared that the attack might have been carried out by suicide bombers who detonated devices in backpacks, according to NBC.

Manchester Arena has since released a statement: “We can confirm there was an incident as people were leaving the Ariana Grande concert show last night. The incident took place outside the venue in a public space. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims.”

The concert is part of the “Everyday” singer’s European leg of her Dangerous Woman Tour, which began on May 8 in Stockholm, Sweden. “We were making our way out and when we were right by the door there was a massive explosion and everybody was screaming,” attendee Catherine Macfarlane told Reuters. “It was a huge explosion — you could feel it in your chest. It was chaotic. Everybody was running and screaming and just trying to get out.”

Just moments after the incident, photos and videos of the terrifying scene began to flood social media, including images of injured fans. This story is developing.
