Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” Reenters British Singles Chart After Manchester Attack
Ariana Grande‘s “One Last Time” has reentered the British singles chart, two years after the release, in light of the Manchester tragedy. Overnight, the My Everything single climbed from outside the top 200 to No. 35, according to Official Charts.
Thank her devoted fans for making this happen. After the explosion at Manchester Arena, which ultimately left 22 dead and 59 wounded, fans took to iTunes and repurchased “One Last Time” — what Ariana was singing before the bomb detonated — to pay their respects. Some created video tributes to those affected, setting celebrity tributes and footage of people escaping the venue to the ballad.
This gesture-turned-chart feat comes after a “broken” Ariana and her team officially suspended her Dangerous Woman tour, “until we can further assess the situation and pay our respects to those lost,” according to a statement.
Meanwhile, celebrities from around the world have been expressing their heartache over what happened. Harry Styles, who calls Manchester home, recently performed an acoustic set and held a moment of silence during his concert in Mexico. Celine Dion had Las Vegas concertgoers stand up and hold hands in solidarity of “those beautiful souls.”
