Kelsea Ballerini Teases New Music
Kelsea Ballerini surprised fans on Snapchat by teasing a new song.

Kelsea Ballerini occupies the space that Taylor Swift once ruled with an iron fist — the nexus between pop and country music. The 23-year-old artfully blended the genres on crossover hits like “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Peter Pan,” propelling her debut LP to gold status. The Tennessee native will be aiming much higher with her sophomore set. And she gets off to a good start with “Legends,” a sweeping ballad that recounts young love with all the drama and tenderness you would expect from country’s Next Big Thing.

“We were golden, we were fire, we were magic. Yeah, and they all knew our names all over town,” Kelsea begins the song. “We had it made in the middle of the madness, we were neon in a grey crowd.” Unfortunately, the singer and her cowboy hat-wearing man (I imagine) flew a little too close to the sun. “Tragic and epic and so amazing, I’ll always wear the crown that you gave me,” she croons on the chorus. “We will always stay lost in forever and they’ll remember we were legends.” Listen to Kelsea’s rising hit below.
