Forget about a video. Selena Gomez is releasing a “Bad Liar” film! The pop star’s blockbuster visual arrives on Wednesday (June 14) and is directed by Jesse Peretz. According to the poster (below), it stars Selena Gomez x 3, so expect her to play multiple characters or simply be the only person in it. I wonder if it will simply be an extended version of the Spotify video, which finds her rolling around in bed with bound wrists. That’s unlikely, however, given mysterious stills that have surfaced online of the diva wandering around the desert.
I’m glad Selena is ramping up promotion. Apart from a seemingly endless run of radio interviews, she hasn’t really done anything. (Posting flawless pics on Instagram doesn’t count). Despite the “It Ain’t Me” hitmaker’s minimal approach, “Bad Liar” is still shaping up to be a smash hit. It is currently top 15 on iTunes and top 30 on Spotify with a staggering 57.6 million streams to date. The critically-acclaimed bop has peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 thus far, but should climb a lot higher in the weeks to come.
