Is Cassie's Comeback Finally Happening?
New music soon? Cassie teased a new song on Instagram and it sounds beautiful.

Cassie currently has a top 30 hit on iTunes with a song she released in 2006! “Me + U,” the diva’s slinky debut single, has been brought back to life by Diddy’s Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story documentary and a prominent placing as one of the digital retailers Hot Tracks. I’m not complaining. This song is still icy R&B perfection with silky smooth production and a hauntingly precise vocal. “Me + U” is so minimal and compact that it fits perfectly into the music scene of 2017. Maybe she should just release it as her comeback single?

Of course, the 30-year-old has been threatening to relaunch for years. She got my hopes up by announcing a new single called “Make-Up” at last year’s VMAs, but it never arrived. Cassie then trolled us by teasing a new song, possibly called “Glass Ceiling,” on Instagram earlier this year. It sampled Tycho’s 2011 electro-lullaby “A Walk” and was eerily beautiful. Hopefully the surprise success of “Me + U” is motivation enough to put new music out. Even though an eternity has passed since her debut LP, Cassie has never gone out of style. Revisit “Me + U” below.
