Kesha Reveals The Cover Of 'Rainbow'
Kesha isn't wasting time! The pop star reveals the cover of third LP, 'Rainbow.'

Kesha’s comeback is off to a flying start with “Praying” climbing all the way to number two on iTunes. She dropped by The Zach Sang Show to talk about her new music, which is very different from the irreverent pop of Animal and Warrior. “I just feel like a totally different artist, and not in like a good or bad way,” she reveals. “I had a great time, the first record was super fun and that’s where I was at… but this is where I am now, so it’s just different.” Not that Kesha is distancing herself from her old material.

“I still love the old songs that’s what I’m trying to get at,” the 30-year-old explained. “I still have a huge connection to my old songs, so it’s not like, ‘Oh, I’m not that artist anymore.’ That’s definitely a part of me. It’s just that this is also a part of me.” Kesha opened up about a new track called “Spaceships,” confiding that she wrote it after an encounter with aliens. “I was in Joshua Tree — totally sober, let me preface — completely fucking sober… and I look up in the sky and there’s a bunch of spaceships.”

That experience was a major influence on the album. “I also swim with whales, so I have like that really weird connection when I swim with them and we communicate in the water,” Kesha said. “So I have all these different interactions with nature that that for me is spirituality.” Rainbow drops August 11.
