Demi Lovato isn’t playing games this time around. The “Stone Cold” diva gathered up some famous faces and her best friends to throw an unapologetic house party in the just-released music video for her new single “Sorry Not Sorry.” After proclaiming herself the baddest on the track, she proves herself capable of living up to the hype by playing ringleader on a night of rambunctious revelries. The Hannah Lux Davis-directed visual was shot on June 29 and features footage of the vibrant event.
Like any good house party, there’s no shortage of wild antics going on. Friends make out by the pool and Demi cheers them on while chanting the lyrics to summer anthem “Cool For The Summer” in a series of jump cuts. After she plays matchmaker, the pop starlet takes it into her house and serves stunning looks in an indoor hot tub while the room fills with bubbles behind her. Just like that, the celebration transformed into a foam party. Wiz Khalifa and Jamie Foxx appear under jewel toned lights to dance alongside her, and “Stars Are Blind” icon Paris Hilton takes a turn in the DJ booth before joining in on the fun.
The only face missing from the fun is Selena Gomez, who recently rekindled her friendship with her Disney friend in a series of tweets. Some mandatory product placement comes at the end, as Demi and her crew hop in a Lyft and wave goodbye to the camera, but that only happens after the police shut down the party. And just like that the night is over, but it’s impossible to forget.
The single may not be the most groundbreaking material the Confident songstress has ever released, but the video is undoubtedly a joyful romp and is sure to go viral with it’s playful cameos and wild antics. “Sorry Not Sorry” is sitting comfortably in the top 10 on iTunes, and this will undoubtedly give the track a boost in sales. Last week the hitmaker embarked on a house party tour across the country to perform the single for some of her biggest fans, and it’s obviously making an impact. If Demi plays her cards right she may just have one of her most successful releases to date. Not a bad way to start off a new era. Check the sexy and defiant video out up top.
