Fifth Harmony Performs “Down” On ‘The Tonight Show’

The rumors were true! Fifth Harmony revealed that their third LP is self-titled and drops on August 25 on last night’s (July 24) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. After the host broke/confirmed the news, the ladies belted out current single “Down” with a completely new arrangement. They sounded impeccable (as usual) and the simple, acoustic accompaniment put the focus back where it belongs — on their voices. Gucci Mane also dropped by for a quick cameo, which added a little extra flavor.

As I wrote previously, going with a self-titled album makes sense. Given the upheaval and drama that followed Camila Cabello’s departure, and Fifth Harmony’s new commitment to owning their brand and writing songs, it makes sense that they would go with something simple and powerful. After all, this album is a rebirth. Known collaborators include Monsters & Strangerz, Harmony Samuels, Sebastian Kole, Dreamlab, Poo Bear and Skrillex. See the group’s subsequent Instagram announcement below.
