Katy Perry is preparing to take fans on an intergalactic adventure when they join her on the upcoming Witness: The Tour, but she has run into a little problem: She needs more time to pull things together. The pop star was set to start the North American leg of her tour with a show in Columbus, Ohio on September 7; however, production delays have forced her to push back the start date. The tour will now be kicking off with a show in Montreal, Canada on September 19.

“Due to unavoidable production delays, major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse on until this week,” the 32-year-old said in a press release. “I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait.”

Six shows were pushed back due to the delays, but previously purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates. Fans are able to get a refund on tickets if they can no longer attend. The “Swish Swish” songstress was also forced to cancel a show in Charlotte, North Carolina, citing a scheduling conflict.

Despite the unexpected delay, things are not all bad for the tour. Katy has recruited an impressive horde of opening acts including Carly Rae Jepsen, Purity Ring and Noah Cyrus. Noah, who exploded onto the scene last year, will join the tour from September 19 through November 1. She’ll be followed by the Canadian duo, who will perform alongside Katy from November 7 to December 20. Carly will help close out the North American dates with performances from January 5 through February 5.

Witness: The Tour is in promotion of Katy’s fifth LP Witness, which was released earlier this year. The event has been billed as “an imaginative trip from outer-space to inner-space, from the planets to the bottom of our oceans, and a musical journey through Katy Perry’s biggest milestones and mega-hits right up to her latest album.” The generous starlet has teamed up with Global Citizen to offer fans a chance to win free tickets if they donate time or funds to charitable events around their hometown, making the event as kind-hearted as it will be larger than life. It seems like she is pulling out all the stops this time around, and hopefully the end result is worth the wait!
