Mariah Carey's 'Butterfly' Turns 20
Mimi's seminal 'Butterfly' album is being released on picture disc vinyl.

Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her seminal Butterfly album by releasing it on picture disc vinyl. But that’s just the start. At least, according to Page Six. They report that Mimi is prepping a live show built around the 1997 opus. “She is planning a huge world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Butterfly to start early 2018,” a source is quoted as saying. “It will be similar to U2’s Joshua Tree tour. VH1 is set to film a docuseries that will capture the behind-the-scenes of her tour.”

However, the pop icon’s latest foray into the world of reality TV isn’t to be mistaken for a second series of Mariah’s World. Page Six reports that the series was canned after ratings plummeted. (Probably because fans got sick of her manager inserting herself into every episode). I’m here for a retrospective tour. Butterfly is Mariah’s best album and it would be amazing to hear deep cuts like “Fourth Of July,” “Babydoll” and “Outside” performed live. Revisit the magic of iconic lead single “Honey” below.
